System Administrator (Linux Team)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our production and disaster recovery environments. This role requires hands-on experience with Red Hat-based distributions, automation tools, and enterprise-grade applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the administration of Red Hat-based Linux systems in both physical and virtual environments.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes in line with business and security requirements.
- Deploy, maintain, and support critical banking applications such as E-Banking, Payment Gateways, and Card Services.
- Ensure high availability and continuity of services across primary and disaster recovery data centers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Design and implement backup, replication, clustering, and failover strategies to ensure data integrity and service resilience.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or other configuration management tools.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to enhance system performance and security.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders regarding system status and project updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Linux System Administration, preferably in enterprise or financial environments.
- Strong automation mindset with experience in tools like Ansible, Bash, or Python.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Atlassian Bamboo.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including IPv4, DNS, VLANs, and firewall rules.
- Ability to work outside regular hours when required for maintenance or incident response.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and accountability.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, LFCS, CKA) are a strong plus.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in regulated industries such as banking or finance.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
